Text Messages

A few texts a week. Only the ones that need you.

Mainframe runs your household’s week and texts you the parts that actually need a decision. Here is exactly what that means, how you say yes, and how you say stop.

Effective September 29, 2026

Who is texting you

Mainframe, the household planning app from Mainframe Mom, run by Jessica Gerber. Messages come from one number, (518) 741-3783, and are about one thing: your household plan. No marketing messages, ever. For anything on this page, email hello@mainframemom.com. A real person reads it.

How you opt in

Nobody gets a text they did not ask for. Consent happens in two steps, and both are yours. Each adult turns texts on for their own number, from their own sign-in. Mainframe never texts a number someone else typed in.

  1. You sign in at app.mainframemom.com, open Profile > Texts, enter your own mobile number, and tick the consent box. The box is not ticked when the screen opens, and the button stays off until you tick it. It reads: “I agree to receive recurring text messages from Mainframe (Jessica Gerber) about my household plan at this number. Message frequency varies, a few per week. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Consent is not a condition of purchase.” Links to this page, the Privacy Policy and the Terms sit under it.
  2. Mainframe sends one text with the full disclosure and nothing else: “Mainframe (Jessica Gerber): Reply YES to receive texts about your household plan. Msg frequency varies, a few per week. Msg & data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. https://mainframemom.com/sms/”
  3. Nothing else is sent unless you reply YES. Consent is not a condition of purchase: your plan arrives by email either way.

The opt-in screen. The app sits behind a sign-in, so here is Profile > Texts exactly as an adult sees it (sample household).

Profile, Texts screen as it opens: an empty mobile number field, an unticked consent box with the full disclosure, and a disabled Text me the YES prompt button.
As it opens: box not ticked, button off.
The same screen with a mobile number entered and the consent box ticked by the adult, which turns the button on.
After the adult types their number and ticks the box.

What the texts look like

Three kinds, plus the HELP reply. First names only. Bracketed parts change with your week.

  • Your week, Sunday night:
“Mainframe (Jessica Gerber): Your week is ready, [First name]. The three that matter: 1 [Item one] 2 [Item two] 3 [Item three]. Full Brief: https://app.mainframemom.com/b/[id] Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.”
  • Needs Me, only when a real decision is yours:
“Mainframe (Jessica Gerber): Needs you, [First name]: [item title]. [What happened]. By [Day, Mon D]. 1 [Choice one] 2 [Choice two] Reply with the number. https://app.mainframemom.com/n/[id] Reply STOP to opt out.”
  • A handoff, to another adult who opted in their own number:
“Mainframe (Jessica Gerber): [First name], one thing is yours this week: 1 [Task title] [Day] [Time] Reply DONE 1 or CANT 1. Reply STOP to opt out.”
  • HELP, when you reply HELP:
“Mainframe (Jessica Gerber): household plan texts, a few per week. Help and contact: https://mainframemom.com/sms/ Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel.”

How often

Varies with your week. Typically a few messages a week: one Sunday night, and a Needs Me only on days something genuinely needs you. Never more than three in a day, never during quiet hours, and never a marketing message. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message. Texts to that number end immediately and you get one confirmation. Reply HELP for help and a link to this page, or email hello@mainframemom.com. Either adult can stop at any time without affecting the other.

Stopping texts does not cancel your subscription; your plan keeps arriving by email. To cancel Mainframe itself, reply CANCEL to any Weekly Brief email, or email us.
